When I heard about Latisse, the first and only FDA-approved treatment to enhance the length and prominence of eyelashes, I was intrigued. Here was a prescription treatment that helps grow eyelashes longer, fuller, and darker. After spending years battling an eyelash curler, I was in, but I wanted to learn more before I committed to buying Latisse.
What’s the Story behind Latisse?
Latisse is a byproduct from a treatment used for glaucoma. That treatment, Lumigan, gave patients very long eyelashes. This unexpected benefit inspired Allergan to create a product exclusively for growing eyelashes. Latisse was FDA-approved in 2001 for treating sparse lashes.
How Easy is Latisse to Use?
This was probably my biggest question, “how easy is it to use Latisse?” And the answer is super easy! Before bed, on a freshly washed face, paint a thin line of Latisse along the lash line with the provided brushes. Use nightly until you achieve your desired results (usually within 16 weeks, while users generally start to see results after 8 weeks). After that, you can maintain your results by using Latisse 3-4 times a week.
How do I get Latisse?
Since Latisse requires a prescription, it’s important to seek a licensed medical professional like Medical Aesthetics and Wellness of CT, LLC. With a consultation, we can verify you’re a good candidate for Latisse by evaluating any allergies and your medical history (eye surgeries, pressure issues, etc.) Don’t forget our consultations are always free.
